As one of the oldest settlements in South Carolina, the city has been very important in the development of the state. It was a major tobacco producing community, but has changed over the years to producing lumber and other construction materials. The population of Conway as of 2010 was 16,317. The town is 15 miles northwest of Myrtle Beach, placing it within an easy drive of shopping venues as well as the Atlantic Ocean and plenty of beaches to enjoy. This is a town that offers a lot for any knew home buyer.

The city also offers sightseeing tours, shooting ranges, specialty shops and a riverwalk along the Waccamaw River. The riverwalk includes picnic table along the path as well as an arboretum, a playground and several marinas.
